WRITING

I have a TV pilot and film currently in development and the following pieces of theatre…
ZIGAZIG AH:
A show celebrating pop music and its power in bringing people together, funded by the Arts Council and directed by Emily Aboud. An R&D of this took place in March 2023 and we are currently looking for partners and venues for production in 2024. Get in touch for footage of our sharing.
THE PROSPER GIRLS: I am currently under commission to Burnt Lemon Theatre to create a new musical for young female audiences.
ITCH + SCRATCH: I am one of the Artistic Directors of Itch + Scratch, an Associate Company of National Youth Theatre, currently making a new show for NYT’s Playing Up company,
‘What Lies Above’.

WAGATHA!

Writer/Director

National Youth Theatre, August 2022

A 30-minute WIP production of an epic show about our fascination with, and relationship to, celebrity culture. Featuring a 32-strong cast of National Youth Theatre members, and a particularly unsettling rendition of a Pussycat Dolls song. Created for Itch + Scratch at the NYT.

THE FAIRYTALE REVOLUTION

Co-writer/performer

Theatre503, 2020. Livestreamed globally. Directed by Emily Aboud.

“an all-female take on “Peter Pan,” had a feminist slant while keeping the genre’s building blocks. I enjoyed its shambolic, riot grrrl attitude — very Mickey and Judy, or rather Judy and Judy… I admired their spunk. Surprise! Even feminist panto includes fart jokes.” The New York Times.

Winner of an Offie OnComm award.

OMELETTE

Writer/Performer

VAULT Festival 2020. Produced by Tom Bevan (Long Distance Theatre). Directed by Tash Hyman.

**** “…writer Anna Spearpoint has brought edgy, engaging humour to a subject that, important as it is, often feels like a slog. The dialogue is gloriously awkward and endearing, and pretty relatable: whilst Mia and Mo absolutely lose the plot, you can kind of see how someone might end up feasting on their goldfish in an attempt to do the right thing…” To Be Read

Winner of Arcola Theatre’s Playwrought scheme. Nominated for VAULT Festival Origins Award.

**** The Stage “Entertaining and energetic all-female panto from this exciting new-writing duo.”
**** Everything Theatre “A laugh out loud panto that brings out the kid in all of us and shows you don’t need the boys to lead the way.”
